East Coast Heritage Museum

The building also incorporates the Swansea War Memorial and the Glamorgan Spring Bay Historical Society.

Jubilee Beach, Swansea

The sheltered beach is often calm and is popular for walking, paddling, fishing, picnics and watching the sunrise. Dolphins may occasionally be seen in the bay, together with migrating whales during their seasonal passage.
The adjoining reserve provides parking, picnic and barbecue facilities, a playground and public toilets. Swansea’s jetty and boat ramp are located at the southern end of the beach. The beach is not patrolled, so visitors should observe normal water-safety precautions.

The headland is particularly attractive around sunrise and sunset and is an excellent location for walking, birdwatching and photography.

Freycinet Marine Farm

Milton Vineyard

Spiky Bridge
Adres: Tasman Highway, Spiky Bridge, Swansea, Tasmania 7190, Australia .Spiky Bridge is one of Tasmania’s most distinctive convict-built landmarks, located approximately 7.5 kilometres south of Swansea on the Tasman Highway.
Built in 1843 by a convict road gang, the bridge was constructed from local fieldstones laid without mortar or cement. Upright stones along its parapet create the unusual spiky appearance from which the bridge takes its name.
Visitors can view the bridge, read the nearby interpretation signs and see the remains of the former governor’s cottage on the overlooking hill.
Melshell Oyster Shack

Mayfield Estate

The Dunbabin family has farmed Mayfield since 1969, originally producing superfine wool. The first vines were planted in 2010, and the vineyard now produces boutique, small-batch cool-climate wines from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Shiraz grapes.
Visitors can enjoy Mayfield Estate wines at the cellar door, accompanied by charcuterie platters on weekdays and wood-fired pizzas on weekends and selected public holidays.

Historic Kelvedon Boat Shed and Beach

Situated on Shelly Point at the southern end of Kelvedon Beach, the boatshed was once an important part of Kelvedon Estate. Before reliable road transport reached the area, farm supplies arrived by sea and produce was dispatched from this point.
The restored boatshed creates a striking photographic scene against Great Oyster Bay, with views towards Schouten Island and the Freycinet Peninsula. Visitors can view and photograph it from the beach after a short walk from the roadside parking area.
Coswell Beach – Swimming & Little Penguins

It is a lovely place for beach walks and swimming when conditions are calm.
The beach is also home to a sensitive colony of little penguins, sometimes traditionally called fairy penguins. The birds return from the sea after dusk, although sightings are never guaranteed.
Please protect the penguins by remaining quiet, keeping well away from birds and burrows, and never using flash photography or bright white lights. Dogs should be kept away from the penguin colony.
Vehicle access and a small parking area are available near the northern end of the beach. Coswell Beach is not patrolled, so visitors should assess the conditions carefully before entering the water.
Spiky Beach Conservation Area and The Whale Trail

The clear blue water, pale sand, dark dolerite headlands and sea-worn rocks create sheltered corners and fascinating rock pools containing shells, anemones and other marine life.
Spiky Beach is ideal for relaxing, photography, exploring the shoreline and swimming when conditions are calm. It is also a stop on Tasmania’s East Coast Whale Trail, providing opportunities to watch for migrating whales offshore.
The beach is not patrolled, so visitors should assess the conditions carefully before entering the water and supervise children around the shoreline and rocks.

Webber (Long) Point Beach and Coastal Reserve

When the swell and conditions are suitable, Long Point can also provide good surfing for experienced surfers.
The beach is unpatrolled and conditions can change quickly. Visitors should assess the surf carefully, take particular care around rocks and supervise children near the water.
Wineglass Bay

The Wineglass Bay Lookout walk is 2.6 kilometres return and takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. The Grade 3 track includes steep sections, rough surfaces and many steps. More experienced walkers can continue to Wineglass Bay Beach or complete the 11-kilometre Wineglass Bay and Hazards Beach circuit.
A valid Tasmania Parks Pass is required. Toilets and drinking-water taps are available at the walking-tracks car park. Sturdy footwear, drinking water and clothing suitable for changing weather conditions are recommended.

Meetus Falls

Nine Mile Beach

The beach is popular for long walks, beachcombing, fishing, photography and enjoying the quiet coastal surroundings. Public beach-access points are located at intervals along Dolphin Sands Road, while Bagot Point lies at the eastern end near the mouth of the Swan River.
Nine Mile Beach is not patrolled. Visitors should take care when swimming, supervise children closely and use the designated access tracks to help protect the coastal dunes.
